La Méridionale, a partner customer of NAVIMED, is a French shipping company founded in 1931 by Henri and Félix Rastit, which provides regular connections between Marseille, Corsica and Morocco.
While maintaining its anonymity, this company began its activities in the transport of goods and petroleum products on the coasts of southern France before opening in 1937 its first connections with Corsica, still carrying only goods.
1955: The establishment of the CEC.
1976: The establishment of territorial continuity.
1988: The start of passenger transport activities.
1992: the acquisition by the STEFE group.
2001: the allocation of the maritime DSP between Marseille and Corsica with the SNCM.
2019: partial eviction of the maritime DSP in favour of Corsica Línea.
2020: opening of a link to Morocco, the French company La Méridionale entrusts to NAVIMED the cargo marketing as part of its new Ropax line between Marseille and Tanger Med.
